Le 02 septembre 2011 par IvoireBusiness - Generally speaking, one has to bear in mind that the key determinant of policy style in most of the post independent african countries nowadays,

is unquestionably lack of government capacity namely corruption, tribalism and nepotism: these are indeed the conspicuous shortcomings of the "Ivory Coast" since APRIL 2011!Right now, almost 90 percent of the ivorian government officials are people from the north of the country. Meanwhile, most of the people who are now in government position have been promoted, because they are close personally to president "Allassane Ouattara's tribe. As a matter of fact, some questions still linger deeply in the mind of ivorian country people: does president "Allassane Ouattara" take a look around him?Has he got an entire control over the rebel soldiers who helped him take over, being the bedrock of his power? The sad reality is that ivorian innocent civilians seem to be used to an unaccustomed violence and brutality, hatred, bloodshed since he took over. It's a kind of tribulation for them when crossing this unprecedented wilderness. Moreover, president "Allasane Ouattara" fails to understand the social dynamics of the country on the ground laying off people permanently by the loads indirectly...The controversy will still go on when the social status of the majority of the people who are now jobless seem to go desperately: blatant corruption, violation of the fundamental human rights, nepotism and tribalism are becoming gradually an embarrassment to his main international allies who seem to be forced now to give him a precise directory to lead the country as a remote control! This is the first trumpet of what will come later on....Finally, the earlier saviour for most ivorians from the north could soon turn victim if he does not watch out...Even if he started tearing down slums in the district called "YOPOUGON", (headquarters of the young ivorian patriots in Abidjan), through the symbolic passing of "la rue princesse", that seems to be more a national mourning in the economic capital city, being the cultural heart beat of "Abidjan" by night. Increasingly, President "ALLASANE OUATTARA" seems to become a tragic figure who is ready to negotiate better deals with international foreign companies, so as to be a share holder, also to some extent, to enable his main allies to have a piece of the economic cake of the "Ivory Coast». Consequently, ivorian history would record one day that he was a good business man rather than a smart politician. It’s not too late to make a deep change through strong reforms and investments in the "Ivory Coast". Time will tell...
