AFRICAN REGGAE GENIUS "ALPHA BLONDY in 1992, saying these words:" We want peace in "LIBERIA", we want peace in "Monrovia" and babylon shall not rise again"...Nowadays, every thing is back to normal in "Liberia" after presidential elections won by a woman, "Ellen Johnson Sirleaf" a few years ago! But black history can record that "Liberia" is a state that was founded by freed african slaves in 1847.Therefore, the liberians who were descended from those black captives were known as "american liberians" or "Congos" in the liberian background. Meanwhile, the capital city is "Monrovia" is named after Us former president "Monroe" who helped the freed slaves found the country. Moreover, as far as international politics is concerned, Liberians are fiercely pro-americans. That’s the reason why the country was america's greatest ally during the cold war as well as the "Ivory Coast" under the rule of former president "Felix Houphouët Boigny"(from 1960 to 1993).IN 1980, some local soldiers led by "sergent Samuel Kanyon Doe"(27 years old) overthrew liberian president "William Tolbert" through a bloody coup in which almost 20 government officials faced fire squad on a beach in "Monrovia"... Unfortunately, those soldiers had no background and they wanted to live in luxury when enjoying materials, that fosters some boomerang effects :Consequently, "Sergent Samuel DOE" who escaped from more than 4 coups attempt from 1980 to 1987, finally, got trapped by the common saying:" he who lives by the sword, will perish by the sword"! IN 1990, a skirmish guided by "Charles Taylor" took roots in "THE IVORY coast" boarder (Danane) and has also benefited from the backing of former ivorian president "Felix Houphouët Boigny". Down the line, President "Samuel Kanyon Doe" who refused to resign at that time, face to face with a rebellion was captured in September 1990, mutilated and killed! War in liberia lasted from 1990 to 2003! Right now, most of the liberians seem to enjoy gradually a new freedom grounded in a true democracy, gleams of hope in the new Liberia.
