Le 05 mars 2012 par IVOIREBUSINESS - Life is a big road with a lot of signs, someone said it in his lyrics...In the "Ivory Coast", the political success story of president "Allassane Ouattara" is tracked by so many ups and downs:

Meanwhile, His fame reached the pinacle in (April 18th 1990), when former international monetary fund(IMF) chairman,(Frenchman "Michel Camdessus" pressured former ivorian president "Felix Houphouët Boigny", who promoted him as the new ivorian prime minister in 1993 in the "Ivory Coast" in a crisis background...Then , he boasted publicly by promising new economic prosperity in the "Ivory Coast" in the three months to come.., Three years later, IN (1993), Ivorian president (Houphouët Boigny) was sick and hospitalized in Paris, on the brink of death! In consequence, the first trumpet of the ivorian prime minister's greatest ambition at that particular period, was to use any means possible to take over in the "Ivory Coast"... On the contrary, he was unable to keep his former economic promise, when the "Ivory Coast" was still going through a recession. Moreover, "Allassane Ouattara" pushed the country to the verge of bankruptcy by setting up a wide range of privatizations in the whole country, where more french investors could be share holders...In the same trend, in (December 1993), after the passing of former ivorian president "Felix Houphouet Boigny"(1960-1993), the ivorian currency(Franc cfa) was devalued with regard to the french currency(franc français), because of the permanent pressure of the french government and the dominated international power structures such as:(international monetary fund). That's to say, the "Ivory Cast" closely with the conspiracy of prime minister "Allassane Ouattara" at that period, had to bow to the pressure or face a cut-off and credit which it desperately needed!Ivorian currency(franc cfa) served unquestionably as a boon to foreign investors and exporters. As a matter of fact, the conspicuous loosers were to some extent, the potential ivorian manufacturers, who had to bear the higher costs of imports and the repayments of foreign borrowings as well as higher credit restrictions. Most of the ivorian strategic industries folded up or were taken over by foreign-owned competitors, specially french competitors close to prime minister "Allassane Ouattara". At that period, the major aim which stirred prime minister "Allassane Ouatara" to action, was to take over, behind closed doors, being engaged in a secret power struggle vith the president of the ivorian parliament(Henri Konan Bédié), who was legally the successor of former president (Houphouet Boigny) on constitutional grounds...Down the line, the president of the ivorian parliament(HKB) won politically and took over in (1993) also benefited to some point, from the political legacy of former ivorian president "Houphouet Boigny"! In the same trend, Against his own will, prime minister "Allassane Ouatara" left the "Ivory Coast" in a revenge and retaliation spirit politically...Can lion and tiger be friends in the future? That is the question... 6 years later, after the departure of prime minister "Allassane Ouattara" from the "Ivory Coast", president"Henri K Bedie" took over peacefully... Six years years later, In (december 24 1999), an unprecedented military uprising took root in the economic capital city of the "Ivory COAST", "Abidjan": That military uprising had got officially the blessing of former ivorian prime minister "Allassane Ouattara", who at the same time, was thinking of the right time for him to come back politically.... Unfortunately, his so called happiness was short lived, because general of the ivorian army, "Robert Guei", who led the military uprising of (december 1999), was then determined to have a grip on the state, a kind of tribulation, as far as "ALLASSANE OUATTARA" political ambition was concerned...It was to some point, his second official plot that failed! But what will he do next? He was later involved in more plots such as a so called military coup called "la mercedes noire(black mercedes plot in "Abidjan" in the 2000s) - in the "Ivory Coast").Finally, "ALLASSANE OUATTARA" never gave up nor surrender: In (September 19 2002) , he sponsored a new rebellion through a bloody military coup to overthrow president "Laurent Gbagbo"...To his amazement, those rebels backed up by some west african rebel soldiers met heavy resistance in the economic capital city Abidjan, consequently they withdrew in the north of the "Ivory COAST", where they got an headquater in "Korhogo"(north) and "Bouake"(CENTER).Finally, after having failed over and over again, they won the military struggle last (APRIL 2011), when having the backing up of the United nations(Un), (la force licorne) (french military force), "Ecomog"(west african military),(also west african rebel soldiers) to make "Laurent Gbagbo" step down...."Allasane Ouattara" finally took over, closely with the support of his main allies: (Usa, France and the european community...)But the controversy will still go on when "ALLASSANE OUATTARA's regime is still gradually losing the support of his main ally(USA), who has requested full transparency, freedom of speech and democratic values in the country : Meanwhile, Full insecurity , full democracy and lack of the guarantee of the fundamental human rights seem to be basically at the center of the current american official disagreement with "ALLASANE' regime right now....Increasingly, president "Allassane Ouattara" seems to become a tragic figure, being accused officially of blatant tribalism and nepotism and assaults indirectly..."Life still remains a big road with a lot of signs in the current "Ivorian turmoil! Nobody knows...
