tradition, "Ernesto Djedje" brought his own unique vision and touch:Furthermore, he was one of the most brillant and talented west african performer of all times! For many in "WEST AFRICA", he reminded us "JAMES brown" performance in USA! As a mattter of fact, "Ernesto Djedje" and his band ("les Ziglibitiens") had formed the cornerstone of that west african traditional music grounded deeply in the african authentic percussions and melodies. As far as some black music experts of authentic african music are concerned, they keep on asserting from time to time that his music was a blend of original african jazz music genes, to some extent! As "ERNESTO DJEDJE" matured musically in the seventies after his return to his sweet home, "the Ivory Coast", his music reached the pinacle of african hit with the smash hit "ZIBOTE", recorded in "NIGERIA" in (1977-1978), closely with the nigerian label ("BADMOS RECORDS")!Moreover, his musical experiences broadened by tours in the whole AFRICA: "Senegal"(1977) "Liberia"(1978) hosted by the late president "William Tolbert" ,"Mali"(1979), "Guinea-Conakry"(1979) hosted by the late president "Sekou Toure", "CAMEROUN"(1982), "Burkina Faso"(1983). As a result, the perspective of "ERNESTO DJEDJE's band(the ZIGLIBITIENS), as the one of the first authentic ivorian band became panafrican and more global through the years: Unfortunately, his musical success story was short lived when he came accross an unexpected death in "Yamoussoukro",(political capital city of the "Ivory COAST") on his way to "Abidjan"(economic capital city of the "Ivory Coast") on( June 9th 1983) at the age of (36), after a tour in "Burkina Faso" ! Nowadays, "ERNESTO DJEDJE" still remains a living legend in the whole AFRICA! But, his musical legacy seems to be so heavy load to carry out for the new prince of "Ziglibithy dance", "Jhonny DEDY LA FLEUR", trying hard to perpetuate "Ziglibithy dance" in AFRICA and EUROPE right now... So the "Ziglibithy" legend lives on!
