In (FEBRUARY 1984), "Robertson" aired a segment entitled "The castro doctrine in Central AMERICA", which featured guest "BERNARD NIETSCHMANN" a university of CALIFORNIA geograpghy professor, just back from a trip to "Nicaragua" where he said he "ran a military blockade" with "Miskito" indians fighting Nicaraguan troops."Nietschmann" and his "Miskito" companion "Blandino Knight" described the SOVIET/CUBAN control of the nicaraguan revolution:They even have a russian bible" said Knight.When "Robertson" pressed them for atrocities, "Nietschmann" and "Knight" said that the "Sandinistas" had been killing "Miskitos" babies by putting broken glass in government- distributed milk bottles. "ROBERTSON" ended the interview by making an appeal for more US. aid to the contras and urging the audience to call their congressional representatives. "Nietschmann", whose spurious scholarship and testimony on the "Miskito" situation has been challenged by native american activists and academics, later admitted to the author that he had no proof or personal knowledge about the "baby bottle" incidents. (In the Spring of 1984), a few weeks before the "Kissinger" commission called for unprecedented levels of aid to US allies in CENTRAL AMERICA, "Pat ROBERTSON" and "CBN" reporter, "Norm Mintle" travelled to "El SAVADOR" where they interviewed then President "Alvaro Magana" and anonymous individuals connected with the death squads. Following the trip, "the 700CLUB" aired four 20-30 minute segments on "EL Savador", "the major theme being that the "Magana" government was a victim of liberal media distortion" During one"700 Club" segment, "ROBERTSON" remarked that he had gone to dinner with "conservative"(death squad) "Roberto D'aubuisson" and found him a "very nice fellow". "Robertson" encouraged the audience not to rely on the "biased liberalism" of "Newsweek", "Time" and "US news" and "world report", all of which, he complained, where exagerating rightist violence while ignoring the leftist "terrorist" threat. We can come to the conclusion through a relevant and thorough analysis that the power of mass media can foster to some extent the international coverage of an unknown reality or censored top secret news such as the slaughter of more than 1000 unarmed civilians in the west of the "Ivory Coast", namely in the city of "Duekoue" attacked twice, one year ago and recently: In thay way, international western media ought to amplify and to loby to a higher scale the soft unknown genocide performed behind closed doors in the west of the "IVORY Coast"! It’s really inconsistent with the fundamental human rights and spiritual ethics to take for granted the slaughter of innocent and unarmed civilians in the west part of the "IVory COAST" right now in the new millennium!
