Le 06 février 2012 par IvoireBusiness - Politics seems to be tracked by so many ups and downs, but the table turns, and former chief rebel and ivorian prime minister "Soro Guillaume" has to face reality in the current ivorian turmoil, being
an eye witness of what took place in the "Ivory Coast" since September 2002!Evidently, the pressure came from Us foreign secretary "Hilary CLINTON", who is eager to see th implementation of a true justice in the "Ivory COAST", without partiality...But the question is, how things will take place concretly on the battlefield? Is ivorian prime minister "Soro Guillaume" on the brink of a so called political push up contest, being the main target of the international court (la haye in the Netherlands)?(...)"Postwar politics in the "IvOry Coast"?(...) Political developments from (1960) onwards have revealed the determined efforts of the ivorian elite and french colonial powers to remain at power and preserve their interests in the "Ivory Coast". Therefore, the granting of formal political independence to the "Ivory Coast" in (AUGUST 1960 ) did not signify the end of french neocolonial powers intervention in the country's internal affairs. In fact, it marked the beginning of a new stage in which french officials continued to direct the course of ivorian development directly or indirectly, overtly or covertly. Moreover, the extent of french influence in ivorian postwar politics has been exposed by well-known journalists, historians and academicians. This has been corroborated by top secret french agents since 1960.So the neocolonial french hand was blatantly seen when former ivorian president "HOUPHOUET BOIGNY" took over IN (1960) in the "Ivory Coast"! At that particular period, french neocolonial agents maneuvered to make or unmake presidents as well as to manipulate elections and through propaganda! This, they were able to do not only because of the tremendous resources at their disposal, but also because of the willingness of the native elite to play the colonizers' game, the vulnerability of corrupt government officials and newsmen, the miseducation of the great majority of ivorians at that precise period(sixties and seventies), and to some extent the effectiveness of cold war propaganda! Today when coming back to the recent facts, as far as the ivorian turmoil is concerned, our history is replete with conspicuous examples of both direct or indirect Us and french interference in national politics such as recent ivorian presidential elections. We can finally come to the conclusion that every major ivorian elections during post independence period, has become an occasion for France to meddle in the internal affairs of a supposedly independent nation(the Ivory Coast). Finally, nobody knows tomorrow in the "Ivory Coast", because predictions are not optimistic right now...
